The Isle of Bute is a gorgeous little isle in Scotland, very easy to get to from Glasgow. I decided to spend a couple of additional days there before shooting Amy & Oliver’s wedding. I’ve spent many small trips roaming around up here, and just can’t get enough of the scenery, or the people! Everyone is just so laid back compared to London.
I love spending time in Scotland, so if you’re considering a Scottish wedding, do get in touch!
We stared off in staying Helensburgh, about a 30 minute drive from Glasgow and close to Loch Lomond. Whilst there our B&B hosts suggested we take a little ferry over to local Inishail island, nicknamed the green isle. We spent a lovely couple of hours here wandering the woods in a small circuit of the isle, going past the ruins of an ancient nunnery, with gravestones so old they were totally unreadable.
After Helensburgh we drove across to Colintravie to get the ferry across to Bute – on a seriously wet and windy day, though by the time we reached Colintravie and Bute itself, the weather had most definitely perked up. I have a thing about shooting photos in the middle of the road!
